A public service announcement to all Illinois drivers. Starting January 1, 2014, drivers on Illinois roadways will be banned from the use of “electronic communication devices” while driving.
The law currently in effect in Illinois, bans texting and emailing while driving. The new law greatly expands prohibited conduct while behind the wheel, with a few narrow exceptions. Those exceptions will include things like hands-free telephone calls, GPS navigation, CB and HAM radios, and emergency situations.
