Smart Phone Use While Driving Banned In Illinois

A public service announcement to all Illinois drivers.  Starting January 1, 2014, drivers on Illinois roadways will be banned from the use of “electronic communication devices” while driving.

The law currently in effect in Illinois, bans texting and emailing while driving.  The new law greatly expands prohibited conduct while behind the wheel, with a few narrow exceptions. Those exceptions will include things like hands-free telephone calls, GPS navigation, CB and HAM radios, and emergency situations.

Uninsured and Underinsured Motorist Coverage protects people from being injured in situations where the other motorist did not have insurance or not enough insurance to cover the medical bills you or your loved ones who were injured in an accident.

Having higher limits on your own uninsured and underinsured motorist policies can be critical to protecting you and your family from uninsured or underinsured drivers.
