Chicago has the worst bed bug infestation problem in the nation.  On June 5, 2013, Chicago’s City Council passed an ordinance aimed at addressing the bed bug issue.  The ordinance will go into effect December 23, 2013. The ordinance will be enforced by the Department of Buildings and the Department of Health.  If a person is found violating the ordinance, that person may be fined $300.00 to $1,000.00 per day for each offense.
